The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is now accepting applications for a Landscape Architecture paid internship within the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Division of Highway Design, Landscape Design Unit, located at our Headquarters in Newington, CT.


Summer interns will participate in the design of landscape components on transportation-related projects. Duties will include developing planting designs, specifications, and construction details for contract plans, performing construction progress and material reviews on site, and assisting with other project development and management tasks. Interns will interact with environmental planners, highway and bridge designers, civil engineers, and other professionals. Interns will work under the supervision of licensed landscape architects and gain exposure to CTDOT's project development and implementation process.
