PROGRAM POLICIES

Approved by the Executive Committee on April 13, 2020.

Program Registration Policy

ASLA Connecticut offers continuing education programs for the benefit of landscape architects and other design professions. Registration rates are set by the ASLA Connecticut Program Committee and will vary based on each program. Programs may offer free and/or non-CEU registration options at the discretion of the Program Committee.

At the discretion of the Program Committee, discounted registration rates may be offered to members of allied professional societies. Members of ASLA Connecticut will receive the largest discount as a benefit of their membership. Members of other ASLA chapters can add Connecticut as an additional chapter through ASLA and pay the corresponding dues to obtain this additional discount.

Unless otherwise noted, payment is due at the time of registration. Registrants who are unable to use the chapter website to complete the registration process should contact programs@ctasla.org to make special arrangements. Please do not mail checks or send cash to the chapter PO box.

Registration deadlines will be set by the Program Committee. Depending on the program, registrations submitted after the stated deadline will be handled in one of two ways:

  • If there are firm limits on seating, food, or other program logistics. late registrations will declined or waitlisted on first come, first served basis if a cancellation occurs.

  • If there is still space available, registrations will be subject to late fee which will be included in the price of the ticket.

  • Walk-in registrants will be accepted at the discretion of the Program Committee.

Continuing education credits, learning units, and/or maintenance units are provided according to LA CES, AIA CES, and APA CM guidelines respectively. ASLA Connecticut uses the terms “pending” or submitted for” to indicate when programs are seeking to be accredited, but have not yet been approved by the corresponding organization. ASLA Connecticut uses the term “approved for” when such programs have been certified as meeting requirements to offer credits or units by that organization.

ASLA Connecticut recognizes that in rare circumstances, the nature of program content may change due to circumstances beyond ASLA Connecticut's control. Such instances may include illness or schedule conflicts with speakers; technical difficulties with the venue or facility; or weather-related conditions. In the event of such circumstances, ASLA Connecticut will provide registrants will notice of this information and post such information on its website as well.

Program Refund Policy

ASLA Connecticut will allow registrants to cancel program registrations until the registration deadline. This date will be stated at the time of registration and will be included on the website and other program marketing materials. Requests for refunds must be made in writing to programs@ctasla.org prior to this deadline. Refunds will be offered in the amount paid for registration, less any credit card processing fees.

After the registration deadline, no refunds will be given for any reason. Instead, ASLA Connecticut will offer a coupon code in the amount of the program registration valid for use on a future chapter program. It shall be the responsibility of the the registrant to redeem said coupon within one (1) year after which point it shall become null and void.

  1. Provided an AIA or ASLA member number during registration.

  2. Have made payment in full during registration.

  3. Physically signed in and out of the LA CES/AIA CES attendance form for the event.
